Obtaining residence permit in Slovenia gives you the right to live and work in the territory of Slovenia, as well as travel around the European Union and the Schengen countries without visas and restrictions.

Options for obtaining residence permit in Slovenia
If you decide to register a company in Slovenia, you have several options:
- register private limited company (LTD),
- open a subsidiary company,
- open a branch of an existing legal entity.
On the basis of all 3 types of companies you have the right to apply for a residence permit for the director of the company without the control of the labor market, and for employees with the control of the labor market.
In order to be eligible to apply for obtaining a residence permit that in Slovenia, for the director of the company, your company must show that actively conducts business – that is, do one of the following conditions:
That company employs at least one person for the period of six months for full-working time, at the same time employee have to be included into complusory social and insurance funds
or
has a prove that company operates actively also counts the fact that company show revenues, on its bank account opened in Republic of Slovenia, in the amount of at least 10.000 euros for each month for last six months and
*In case that employer whose company has been registered for less than 6 month, before applying for single permit, invests into fixed assets 50.000 euros, consequently company shows that it operates actively and requirements written above also count to be fullfiled and it is enough that company/foreigner, where foreigner will work, applyies for his single work and residence permit.
Once your company will satisfy one of the above mentioned conditions, you have the right to submit the application for obtaining residence permit in Slovenia. The application must be submited at the Embassy in your country of citizenship or residence. The legal period of consideration of documents is 1 month after an administrative unit receives from you a complete package of documents, which are necessary in order to get the residence permit in Slovenia.
As soon as the director of the company has a residence permit, you can start the procedure of obtaining residence permit in Slovenia for the rest of the founders / directors / employees. Procedure occurs under the scheme of publishing free job positions in your company
