How to register your company in Slovenia?

Proving active business

After you finish registration process, you will probably hire someone. If you would like to hire a non-EU citizen, you have to prove that you have an active business. Slovenian company can employ EU citizens right away. Foreigners who already have a valid single work and residence permit in Slovenia can be employed immediately also. However, some foreign workers do not have the permit. In this case, you must firstly apply for a work and residence permit. You need to meet one of these three possible conditions:

  • An investment of 50,000 euro in the fixed assets of your company,
  • You first employ an EU resident full-time for a period of 6 months,
  • You must show a revenue of at least 10,000.00 euro for six consecutive months.
