First step in the procedure of business immigration to Slovenia, EU – company registration
Business immigration means obtaining work and residence permit based on employment in your own company in Slovenia. So, for that you firstly need to establish a company. Non-EU citizens can establish an LTD company with 7500€ share capital. There can be several shareholders within the company and you would also have to decide who will be the director. All involved will have to obtain Slovenian tax numbers. In the process of company registration, your office will also require to have a business address in Slovenia. When the company is registered you can proceed to the next steps of business immigration.
After company registration you need to fulfill conditions of active business conduct
You are not automatically entitled to start the business immigration procedure when you register a company. The Slovenian legislation foresees that the company has to show active business conduct in order to employ non-EU citizens. To prove that, you can choose between 3 separate conditions:
- investing 50.000€ into fixed assets of the company,
- or showing company revenue 10.000€/month for 6 consecutive months,
- or having one EU citizen employed for full-time for 6 months and pay them monthly salary.
Your company would have to fulfill only one of these conditions in order to start the procedure of business immigration to Slovenia.
When you have fulfilled the condition of active business conduct, you can initiate the procedure to apply for temporary work and residence permit for Slovenia
When your company fulfilled one of the conditions, you are eligible to apply for the work and residence permit to Slovenia. You have to submit the full application at the Slovenian embassy in your country of citizenship. The review time is around 3 months and afterwards the procedure of business immigration is complete and you can relocate to Slovenia and work in your company on-site.
