Starting your business in Slovenia – process and timelines
Starting your business in Slovenia starts with company registration. If you are new to entrepreneurship, you can start your brand-new business in form of LTD company. But if you have an existing company abroad, you can also consider opening a subsidiary or a branch office.
Starting a LTD company requires the least documentation. You would need to obtain the Slovenian tax number for all shareholders and representatives of the company, which takes 8 days to obtain. Additionally, your company will also need a business address in Slovenia. For preparing the act of establishment you would need to come to Slovenia. To do that, you can come to any VEM point in Slovenia where registrations are performed free-of-charge. At this point you would also need to open a bank account in Slovenia and deposit the share capital. Minimal share capital for LTD company is 7500€. After depositing the capital, the court registers the company within 3-5 business days. Finally, this would complete the company registration and you can start doing your business activity with the company.
