Increase in GDP in Slovenia – 2,7% in the whole year, 2,3% in the third quarter
In comparison to the GDP in the third quarter of 2018, GDP of Slovenia had an increase of 2,3% for the same quarter in 2019. In the months from January to September 2019, the GDP increased by 2,7% for the same period of last year.
There was an increase in domestic consumption, which amounted to 3,8%. This increase was due to final consumption as well as gross investments. Gross investments increased by 4,4%, where 1,2% was investments to fixed assets.
Slovenia also experienced increase in import (6,7%), which was higher than export, where the increase was 4,5%.
Employment also increased in this quarter by 2,3%. The majority of employment was in processing industry, construction, trading, transport and technical business activities.
