Foreign trade in goods was higher in August of 2019 than in August of 2018

The Statistical office of Slovenia (SURS) has prepared an evaluation regarding import and export in Slovenia. Slovenia has exported for 2.316,8 million EUR of goods and imported around 2.296,6 million EUR of goods. Hence, the value of export has increased by 4,9% in comparison to August 2018. Likewise, the value of import has increased by 4,3%. Foreign trade in goods created a surplus in the amount of 20,2 million EUR in August of 2019.

The value of trade with non-EU countries was higher than trade with EU countries

Slovenia has exported 667,2 million EUR of goods to countries outside of the EU in August 2019. From those countries, Slovenia imported for 567,7 million EUR of goods. The increase in export to those countries was by 28,9%, while the increase of import from those countries was by 28,3%.

Import and export of goods were almost completely balanced in the first 8 months of 2019

From January to August 2019, Slovenia exported for 22.146,6 million EUR of goods, while it imported for 22.142,6 million EUR of goods. Export was higher by 8,9% in comparison with the same period last year. Likewise, import was higher by 11,3%.

The trading surplus created in this period amounted to 4,0 million EUR. The coverage of imports by exports was 100.02%.
