How much time do you need to register a company in Slovenia?
The first step in business immigration is registering an LTD company with 7.500€ share capital. You would also need a Slovenian tax number, business address in Slovenia and a valid passport. The time to obtain a Slovenian tax number is minimally 8 days from submitting the application for the tax office. Then, the signing of the act of establishment does not take more than 1 hour of your time. In order to deposit the 7.500€, you need to open a bank account in Slovenia. Banks tend to take their time in opening the account, which can take from 1-2 weeks. After the deposit, the court registers the company in around 3-5 days. Then the only element left is activating the permanent bank account, which should not take more than 1 days of your time.
What about the timeline for business immigration?
The time to complete business immigration to Slovenia depends on the condition your company fulfills in order to be able to employ foreigners.
You can choose between three options:
- investing 50.000€ into fixed assets of the company,
- or employing an EU citizen for 6 months for full-time,
- or showing 10.000€ monthly revenue for 6 consecutive months.
If you are in a hurry to proceed to immigration, investing 50.000€ saves you time in order to proceed submitting your application for work and residence permit. After making the 50.000€ purchase, you can immediately submit the application. The other two options take a longer time to complete since you need to wait 6 months just to fulfill the condition.
In all cases, after submitting the application, you work and residence permit will be issued in around 3-months’ time. Afterwards you can finally relocate to Slovenia to oversee your business.
