Single work and residence permit for company representative

Single work and residence permit in Slovenia must obtain a foreign citizens who want to live Slovenia. Those, who are not nationals of EU Member States and do not have status in Slovenia yet, have right to open private limited company or branch office, in case you already run a business in your country.

In both cases, director and legal representative of the company have the right to obtain single work and residence permit. According to new legislation which came into force on 01.09.2015 – foreigners obtain single work and residence permit, which shortened time and procedure for obtaining permits for living in Slovenia.

The principle of single permit allows alien or the employer to submit a request for single work permit in one place – that is administrative unit or responsible embassy or consulate of the Republic of Slovenia abroad. Time to get work permit and a residence permit on the basis of the new law is reduced, which means that referent in Administrative unit has the right 30-60 days in order to resolve each application.

Prior to filling the documents for obtaining residence and work permit, foreign citizens need to register a company in Slovenia for obtaining residence and work permit without control of labor market as a representative of company.
