You can be the owner of a company, more precisely a limited liability company in Slovenia, without any restrictions. The conditions are the same for citizens of EU member states as well as for citizens of non EU countries. The owner of the company must deposit capital in the minimum amount of 7,500 euros to open a limited liability company (LTD). After registering the company, you can use the money for business purposes.

Company owners and directors in Slovenia – residency options
Are you a citizen of a country that is not a member of the EU? In Slovenia, you can be both a company owner and a director. Regardless of the fact that you do not have an EU passport. This means that you do not need to be a citizen of one of the EU member states. However, as a business owner and director in Slovenia, you do not automatically receive a residence and work permit. You can apply for a residence and work permit if your company meets one of the following conditions:
- invest in fixed assets in the amount of 50,000 euros (in the first six months of company registration);
- if you have at least full time employee for at least 6 months;
- if in each of the last 6 months the company has realized a turnover in the amount of 10,000 euros on a transaction account opened for the company in Slovenia.
