A work permit for a foreigner is a condition for entry into the country and residence, employment and work in Slovenia. A work permit for a foreigner or its acquisition can be a complex and time-consuming process. Work permit for a foreigner: when is labor market control necessary?

If you employ a foreigner as a company representative, labor market control is not necessary. In all other cases, you have to start the process through labor market control.

This means that you publish a vacancy at the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia (ZRSZ) The ZRSZ will inform you in a few days whether there are candidates in the records who meet your requirements. If there are no candidates in Slovenia, you can start the acquisition of the work permit for the foreigner.
