VAT identification number for your company in Slovenia – entering the VAT system voluntarily
You can obtain the VAT identification number for your company even if your taxable turnover is lower than 50.000€. Entrepreneurs decide to enter the VAT system voluntarily, when they plan on doing business in Europe. This means either issuing invoices for their services or importing products from companies in other EU states.
You can submit the application for the VAT identification number after having already registered a company in Slovenia. Once you receive the VAT identification number, you have the same rights and responsibilities as the entrepreneurs who entered the VAT system when surpassing 50.000€ turnover.

The first step would be to register a legal entity on Slovenia. Non-EU citizens can register an LTD company. It is a private company limited by shares. The founding capital is 7500€ and it can have several shareholders and representatives. The company registration takes around 1 month to complete and all shareholders and representatives would have to come to Slovenia personally to finalize this process.
