What parts of the company registration procedures could be done remotely even before coronavirus outbreak?
Even before coronavirus outbreak, parts of the LTD registration procedures could be done remotely. One of these steps is obtaining the Slovenian tax number for all shareholders and representatives. This document is a mandatory part in the procedures of company registration. Even before the coronavirus outbreak, you could authorize someone to obtain these documents on your behalf. What are the novelties for company registration during coronavirus?
For a limited amount of time, it is possible to also conduct other company registration procedures remotely. Our VEM point is authorized to prepare company registration documents based on online identification. Usually this step requires identification in person, but currently due to difficulties in travel, is also possible to do this remotely. This alteration will be possible only during the period of the epidemic in Slovenia.
The other step that required personal presence in Slovenia is opening the bank account. Within the measures that the Slovenian government adopted in the Intervention Act, they gave banks permission to conduct identification remotely, through video conference call. Their identification was necessary in accordance to the Law on preventing money laundering and financing terrorism. Yes, there is. While LTD company registration requires personal presence of the shareholders and representatives in normal circumstances, opening a branch office can be done remotely at all times. Branch office does not require opening a bank account in the process of registration and has to be registered at the notary. You can authorize DATA d.o.o. to conduct the registration at the notary and your presence in Slovenia is not required.
