In December 2022, it was almost 5 percent more!
The number of established companies increased in the last month of the previous year. Compared to the month of November, the number of start-ups was 4.8% higher. If we compare the number of company creations with the same period of the previous year, there was an increase of 1.5 percent. The Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia compared this data with data from 2015 and concluded that the number of start-ups in December 2022 was almost 20 percent higher!

The number of company establishments was significantly higher in some industries. Which ones?
The increase in activity, which best reflects the growing number of company creations, is most present in the construction industry. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of start-ups in the construction industry was higher by 13.1% or by 13.2% higher compared to the same quarter in 2021. It was also higher compared to 2015. And even by 61.2 percent!
There were more company establishments in other industries as well!
In the last quarter of 2022, compared to the previous quarter, the number of company creations also increased in the following industries:
- trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (by 0.9%);
- catering (by 3.8%);
- financial, insurance, real estate, professional and other business activities (by 1.1%);
- education, healthcare, social care, culture and other services, excluding the activities of member organizations (by 3.2%).
