Business development in Slovenia – starting a new company
The easiest way for business development in Slovenia is to start a completely new company. It would be a limited liability company where you as the natural person would be the shareholder. You need to provide the share capital of 7500€ which you can later use for business expenses. Also, you would need to provide a Slovenian tax number and a business address at registration. Within this company you can register various business activities and you can also add or remove them later on.

Business development in Slovenia – expanding your existing business!
If you already have a business abroad, you can proceed to business development of your idea on a new market. In addition to opening a limited liability company as a natural person, you can also opt to open a daughter company. This will still be a limited liability company, so a separate legal entity. The only difference would be that your parent company would also require a Slovenian tax number.
To expand your business to Slovenia, you can also open a branch office. This will offer the possibility of business development with your existing company, with only an extension in Slovenia. A branch office is not a separate legal entity which means that it can only provide the same services as the parent company. Also, it is completely financially dependent on the parent company. To register it, you require more documents from the parent company. Those include: financial statement for the previous business year, extract from the business registry of the parent company and act of establishment.
All three company types give you access to business development both in Slovenia as well as in the entire EU!
