Holidays and non-working days in Slovenia in 2020

The year 2019 is approaching the end. In Slovenia, 25th and 26th December are national holidays and hence non-working days. But when are the holidays in 2020? In 2020, the majority of the national holidays will fall on weekends and will not influence the working days as much as in 2019.

Non-working days in Slovenia in 2020

1st and 2nd January (Wednesday and Thursday) – New Year.

8th February (Saturday) – Prešeren Day (cultural holiday)

12 th April (Sunday) – Easter Sunday.

13 th April (Monday) – Easter Monday.

27th April (Monday) – Day of uprising against occupation.

1st and 2nd May 2020 (Friday and Saturday) – Labor Day.

31 st May (Sunday) – Pentecost.

25th June (Thursday) – Statehood Day.

15th August (Saturday) – Assumption Day.

31st October (Saturday) – Reformation Day.

1st November (Sunday) – All Saints’ Day.

25th December (Friday) – Christmas Day.

26th December (Saturday) – Independence and Unity Day.

The majority of the holidays in 2020 will fall on the weekends. Also, they would not influence the majority of business conduct.

Holidays in Slovenia that are not official non-working days

Some holidays in Slovenia in 2020 are also working days – meaning that business hours of companies and institutions progress normally.

8th June (Monday) – Primož Trubar Day (cultural holiday)

17th August (Monday) – Unification of Slovenes from Prekmurje with their motherland

15th September (Tuesday) – Return of Primorska region to its motherland

25th October (Sunday) – Sovereignty Day

23rd November (Monday) – Rudolf Maister Day
