Regulation for company registration in Slovenia
Slovenia is one of the few countries where the regulations allow foreigners to register a company here without previous residence in the country. The most popular choice for company registration is limited liability company (LTD) which requires no previous business experience for the registration itself. You just need to provide 7500€ share capital, a business address and a Slovenian tax number.
Experienced entrepreneurs can also decide to expand their business by registering a daughter company or a branch office in Slovenia. The Slovenian regulation allows you to obtain your work and residence permit through all three company types.

Regulation for business immigration to Slovenia
After company registration you have the possibility to obtain work and residence permit through the company. The regulations which cover the conditions on business immigration are the following: Foreigners Act (ZTuj-2) and Employment, Self-employment and Work of Foreigners Act (ZZDT-1). Both of these regulations have its own requirements and also cover other possibilities of immigration to Slovenia.
But these acts also cover the conditions through which you can engage business immigration. They state that your company can start employing foreigners after fulfilling one of the following conditions:
- investment to fixed assets in the amount of at least 50.000€,
- or employing an EU citizen for 6 months on full-time salary,
- or showing company revenue 10.000€ every month for 6 consecutive months.
Your company only has to fulfill one of these conditions to abide by the regulations through which you can apply for your work and residence permit.
