From the 1st of January 2006, all operators of activities in the field of food production in the Member States of the European Union in accordance with the second paragraph of Article 6 of Regulation 852/2004 / EC on food hygiene, must register the food industry, which carries out activity with food.
Business activities in the field of food production
Realising activities in the field of food production, the person responsible must ensure registration of food premises to the exercise of any of the following activities:
- Primary production of food or animals intended for food production,
- Implementation of the procedures related to the primary production (collection), the acquisition of milk (milk organizer of purchase),
- Processing, manufacturing, preparing, handling, packaging, storage,
- intermediary services,
- Retail (sale of food products in the retail outlet, on the market in the mobile stander, via Internet, by mail, a vending machine, catering: restaurants, pastry shops, cafés, temporary accommodation facilities, farms, preparation and food delivery, institutional food establishments (hospitals, schools, kindergartens), etc.
The operator of business activity in the field of food production, should ensure that the food company has been in the charter of all business activities in the field of food production carried out at the plant. Not later than 15 days before the activity, he should apply for registration of the plant. It may do so by completing the registration form for registration of activities in the field of food production.
