Turnover of your company in Slovenia – path for business immigration

There are several ways through which a company in Slovenia gains the right to employ non-EU citizens. If you have a clear business plan and you will start doing business immediately after the company is established, consider your company’s turnover for a possibility for business immigration to Slovenia.

Turnover of your company in Slovenia – how can turnover make business immigration easier?

Only establishing a company in Slovenia does not give a foreigner immediate possibility to apply for business immigration. The company has to fulfill one of three conditions of active business conduct in order for the company to have the right to employ foreigners:

  • Investment of 50.000€ to fixed assets of the company or
  • Employing an EU citizen for 6 months on a full work day or
  • Company turnover 10.000€ each month for 6 consecutive months

If you already know that immediately after starting up the company you will have clients who would be purchasing your services or products, you can choose the third option and start generating turnover.

Turnover of your company in Slovenia – the amount of turnover needed and the correct way to generate it

If you decide to fulfill the condition of active business conduct by turnover, you need to make sure that the turnover is no less than 10.000€ per month. Your company has to generate at least 10.000€ turnover each month for 6 consecutive months. So, you also need to make sure that there are no breaks when generating this amount.

Because when applying for the work and residence permit, the responsible authorities will not look at an average sum over the course of 6 months but will evaluate if the turnover was no less than 10.000€ per month.

Generating turnover does not mean that all funds that come to your company’s bank account count as turnover. The only ones that count are the ones that come from your business activity. It means that you have to issue invoices to clients for your services of products in the amount of at least 10.000€ monthly.

You would also need to receive payment from the clients each month in the amount of 10.000€ per month. This would have to go on uninterruptedly for 6 months in order for your to be able to apply for work and residence permit after the 6 months pass.

For example, interest of owning shares or shareholder loans do not count in company turnover that would suffice for fulfilling this condition.
