Arrival of British entrepreneurs to Slovenia – restrictions due to COVID-19 outbreak?
Slovenia has prepared a list of countries where it divided countries in three groups, depending on the epidemiological picture. The countries are on a green, orange or red list. Great Britain is mostly on the orange list – only arrivals from Gibraltar are included on the red list. An orange list enables arrivals from those countries to enter Slovenia without quarantine if the country is an EU members state or part of the Schengen zone. Due to Brexit, Great Britain is not a part of the EU so a 10-day quarantine is prescribed for arrivals from Britain.
But there is good news for arrivals of British entrepreneurs! Even if a country is on a red or orange list, you can avoid quarantine if you present a negative test for COVID-19 that is not older than 48 hours. Until today, only tests from within the EU or Schengen zone were valid – but starting today, you can also do the test in non-EU countries but only at the institutions that the Slovenian have confirmed in a special list.
So, owning a negative COVID-19 test will enable your arrival to Slovenia even if Britain is on the red or orange list.

Effects of Brexit for arrivals of British entrepreneurs to Slovenia
In January 2020, Britain exited the EU, prompting the country to become a non-EU country. But the transition period is still in place at least until the end of 2020. So, until that time, British citizens still enjoy the same rights as EU citizens. In this manner, arrivals of British citizens are still possible without visas. Also, they can open LTD companies or sole proprietorships without restrictions. At least until the end of the business year, British citizens will be able to apply for residence permit based on the same conditions as other non-EU citizens.
