Good news for business in Slovenia – the ban on air travel to Slovenia due to coronavirus has been lifted. The government decided not to extend the ban on air travel which started on 17th March. It means that starting today, international air travel to Slovenia is possible. Now it is up to the airlines to organize the flights from the countries that allow air travel. Air travel to Slovenia is possible again starting 12th May 2020
The government has lifted the ban on air travel to Slovenia, which was part of the preventative measure to contain the spread of coronavirus. As the situation in Slovenia is improving and the prognosis for the future is good, the government is starting to loosen the restrictions. One of the most anticipated ones is enabling international air travel to Slovenia. The National Institute for Public Health will issue guidelines on how airlines and airports have to ensure health and security for staff and passengers. Also, each destination country will have its own regulation on what restrictions it will impose to passengers travelling abroad and returning home. The airlines will now start planning their trips to and from Slovenia.
This is good news for business in Slovenia as restricting air travel also impacted local and foreign business owners who had to tend to their business. It is one step further for the country to arrive at the »new normal« of life after coronavirus outbreak.
