Double-entry bookkeeping is done on the basis of the chart of accounts to the general ledger, prepared by the Slovenian Institute of Auditors.
According to the Slovenian Accounting Standards, it is mandatory to conduct two major books for business finance – general ledger and journal.
In addition to the basic books, your accountant will also keep the analytical records that explain the basic general ledger accounts (account of material, products, customers, suppliers etc.) and other auxiliary books (a fixed assets register imprest system book etc.).
Business finance: bank account
If you are not an EU citizen and you do not live in Slovenia, you can open an LTD in Slovenia. To open it a minimum starting capital in the amount of 7,500 euros is required. Due to this fact and also to manage your business finance, you will need to open a bank account in Slovenia. You should open the bank account in Slovenia before the registration process of LTD.
