Arrivals to Slovenia for entrepreneurs travelling from the Middle East

Citizens of United Arab Emirates do not have to apply for Schengen visas to visit Slovenia for business or personal reasons. Owning a passport of United Arab Emirates allows them to visit Slovenia without Schengen visa for maximum of 90 days.

Jordanian, Lebanese and Kuwait citizens on the other hand can visit Slovenia for business or personal reasons but need to apply for visa at the respective Embassy.

Lebanon, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait are on the red list for arrivals to Slovenia. A red list includes the countries where the epidemiological picture concerning coronavirus infection has deteriorated. Jordan on the other hand is included on the orange list. Normally, entrepreneurs, regardless of citizenship, travelling from those countries would have to undergo a 10-day quarantine upon arrival to Slovenia.

Since 28th September 2020, Slovenia has issued the exception that entrepreneurs travelling from those countries do not need to undergo quarantine if they can provide a negative test for COVID-19. The test however cannot be older than 48 hours and have to be obtained from an EU or Schengen member state.

This is a novelty which makes the travel and crossing of state borders to Slovenia for Middle East citizens much easier, as no quarantine is prescribed.
