Many individuals and companies in Slovenia decide to also open a foreign bank account in another country. A natural person who opened an account abroad, has to register it in 8 days from day of the opening. Accounts opened in the Republic of Slovenia do not need to be reported because the FURS (Financial Administration of Slovenia) obtains the data ex officio. Registration of a foreign bank account is necessary in the case of payment accounts, deposit accounts, custody accounts, etc. FURS points out that registering a foreign bank account with them is needed. If you report it yourself before FURS receives the data on your account abroad, you can avoid fines.
